Rodney Strong Vineyards makes some superb wines. Their reds are especially exemplary, particularly their Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Zinfendel and Pinot Noir. They also release some nice Chardonnays from the Sonoma Coast, so whether you’re a red or white drinker, there’s something in the portfolio for you.
Rodney Strong also has a strong philanthropic bent, donating millions of dollars to national charities like United Way and Lance Armstrong’s Live Strong campaign. They have another program that contributes to local communities where they have a strong retail presence, and Nashville is one of those fortunate towns. There are only eight other cities benefiting from this deal, so we’d better go ahead and take advantage of it!
For the third year in a row, Rodney Strong has partnered with Second Harvest of Middle Tennessee to assist them with their efforts to feed over 28,000 people in the Nashville area. How can you help out? It’s easy…just drink!
For the months of October through December, Rodney Strong will make a donation for every glass of their wine sold at participating restaurants and bars. Randy Rayburn’s Midtown Cafe and Sunset Grill are two of the restaurants leading this charge, but ask your favorite watering hole if they are part of the program. If they say no, then ask “why not?”
At wine and liquor stores, Rodney Strong is also making a donation for every bottle sold to consumers. Most of your favorite retailers have signed up for the program, including Frugal MacDoogal, Bud’s, Red Dog, RED, Midtown, West Mead Wine and Liquor Mart and…well, you get the story. Just about all the big boys are in, but don’t be afraid to ask.
So when you’re choosing a glass to go with dinner or a bottle for home or a holiday gift, consider buying some of the fine wines from Rodney Strong and do some good!
