DeLeón Tequila Named Best Spirit for the Third Time!

DeLeón Tequila has been known as one of the greatest tequilas in the world for years now. In fact, this year a DeLeón product has been named the Best Spirit of year by luxury publication Robb Report for an unprecedented third year in a row.

The winner this year is DeLeón’s private reserve Leóna product. Already certified as the purest tequila in the world, Leóna takes the artisan craftsmanship to another level by using 100% pure blue weber agave and the purest water in the entire country of Mexico drawn from DeLeón’s three natural spring wells to create a truly special product. The tequila is distilled and then aged 34 months in legendary Sauternes barrels to create a product that is on a par with the finest cognacs and whiskies of the Old World.

Packaged in a dramatic black box with a faux python skin case, Leóna is a striking product with a price to match. You can spend almost a grand on a 750 ml bottle, but when was the last time you got to enjoy something that was acclaimed as being “the absolute best?”

During last year’s hysteria over the end of the world that was presaged by the end of the Mayan calendar, a legend circulated that the ancient Mayans had created a special drink for the end of civilization. According to the folks at DeLeón, it might just have been Leóna.
