At last check, a round-trip ticket to New Orleans for next week is running about $600 on Southwest, so if you haven’t already made plans, you’re probably gonna spend Fat Tuesday in Music City. Fret not, because the honorary coon-asses at Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie Bar in Printer’s Alley have got your Mardi Gras plans covered.
They’ve got a big party planned for next Tuesday March 4, with everything you need for an authentic Big Easy experience. They’re working on menu specials like Shrimp & Crawfish Étouffée, Red Beans & Rice, Gumbo, Jambalaya and King Cake for dessert to transport you on a culinary tour of NOLA. Plus there will also be a crawfish boil planned for your USRDA of mudbugs.
The bar will be slinging New Orleans classics like Hurricanes, Hand Grenades and “Big Ass” beers plus other drink specials all day and night. Live music will keep the party pumping, and there will be door prizes and giveaways for attendees. In case you need a record of just how much fun you had, there will also be a photo booth to remind you what you were wiling to do for some beads.
Stacy Mitchart kicks off at 9:00, and he’s been known to pin back the ears of listeners to his brand of scorching blues, so be sure not to miss out!
